As part of efforts to enhance the welfare package of its workforce as well as boost their productivity and efficiently in service delivery, the Nigerian Immigration Service, (NIS) has partnered the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) in THE provision of loans for its men and officers to the tune of N59.7m.
Speaking in Abuja, the Comptroller General of the Service, Mr Muhammad Babandede while appreciating the bankers said the scheme will help it’s officers to be productive as comfort guarantees high productivity. He added that it will enable them to be house owners after retirement.
He, however, cautioned beneficiaries not to divert the loan for other uses.
The scheme, which has 60 officers as beneficiaries, had the first batch disbursed to 10 officers in December 22, 2016 to the tune of N9.9 million while the second batch of 50 officers and men received theirs on Wednesday to the tune of N49.7 million.
The scheme, which is a partnership between NIS, its National Housing Fund managers and FCMB is designed to leverage on the National Housing Fund contributory package to ensure that all participants get decent accommodation to increase commitment and dedication from the workforce.
